StoreyKeeper creates professionally filmed life story interviews for individuals and families who want to preserve the memories, voice, personality, and wisdom of someone they love.
We come to your home or care setting with cameras, lighting, and professional audio equipment, then guide a relaxed conversation at a comfortable pace. There is no script to memorize and nothing to perform. The person being interviewed simply talks while we help draw out the stories, details, and reflections that might otherwise be lost.
Each interview is carefully edited into a lasting family film, delivered on a USB memory stick and through a private downloadable link. A written transcript is also included, so the story can be watched, read, shared, and passed down.
At its heart, StoreyKeeper is about preserving the person behind the photographs: their voice, their expressions, their humor, their memories, and the life they built one storey at a time.
Before We Arrive
A StoreyKeeper interview is meant to feel relaxed and natural, but a little preparation can make the final film much more meaningful.
Before filming, we’ll have a brief planning conversation with the family or client. This helps us understand the person being interviewed, the important chapters of their life, and any stories, people, places, or themes you hope will be included.
We may ask about:
- childhood and family background
- important relationships
- work, service, marriage, children, and major life changes
- places that shaped them
- stories the family has heard and wants preserved
- sensitive topics to avoid or approach carefully
- names, dates, and details that may help guide the conversation
Photos are strongly encouraged. A small selection of meaningful photographs can help unlock memories and add depth to the finished film. These might include childhood photos, wedding pictures, family gatherings, military service, work life, homes, travels, or favorite places. If selected photos are used in the edit, we can scan them digitally.
We also talk about editorial preferences before filming. Some families want a simple interview-style record. Others want a more polished legacy film with photos, music, titles, and a shorter highlight version. We’ll discuss the intended audience, tone, length, delivery format, and whether there are any private details the family prefers not to include.

It is completely okay if the process feels unfamiliar at first. You do not need to understand the equipment or remember how anything works.
The lights are soft and gentle, and they do not get hot or shine harshly in your eyes. The microphone is small and clips on lightly so we can hear you clearly without you needing to do anything.
Once we sit down, it is simply a conversation. We go at your pace. If you feel unsure, we pause. If you need a moment, we take one. You are in control the entire time. If we need to take a break we can and pick up again a little later.
Our only goal is to help you feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared for while you share whatever you would like to share.

We take the safety of our clients, guests, and equipment very seriously, ensuring complete peace of mind during every single shoot. If your venue requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI), just let us know and we will happily provide one.
